Jennifer Massey’s first endorsement comes from her role model, her almost 95-year-young grandmother, Betty (Paterson) Spady Haas.
“She was born here and still resides here. She was excited and
immensely proud that I am steadfast in making a positive difference
in the place our roots have called home since 1928.
We celebrated my decision with a delicious meal at Plymouth Pub,
where she actually has her own placard, ‘Betty's Table’”
I'm excited to announce that I have received the endorsement of Local 290 Plumbers, Steamfitters, HVAC/R, and Marine Fitters! As a proud second-generation steamfitter from Local 290, this endorsement is incredibly meaningful to me.
It's an honor to have the support of the community that has not only shaped my career but also instilled in me the values I hold dear. A heartfelt thank you to Local 290 for your trust and confidence in my vision. Together, we will push for progress and continue to uphold the principles of our local as we work together to bring more industry to the City of St. Helens—a place many of our members call home.
Being a member of the United Association’s LU 290 has provided me with invaluable opportunities and experiences that have significantly shaped my professional life. From my time as an apprentice, journeyman, and foreman, I've gained a comprehensive understanding of the construction industry. This journey has allowed me the opportunity to work directly for a signatory contractor as a union member and to engage in high-level negotiations with executives from major corporations such as Intel, TSMC, Chevron, Facebook, Google, Tesla, Texas Instruments, and many others. This experience, combined with my 18 years in business, is vital for attracting industry and reducing the tax burden on our citizens. Being part of the 3% of 378,000 members in the trades has instilled in me grit, tenacity, determination, and the importance of solidarity and collaborative partnerships—qualities essential for any leader, especially in St. Helens.
